SOME FACTS

About the International Building Codes by ICC

The ICC model codes are used by over 170 countries and jurisdictions, and they are the basis (or model codes) for the building codes in 50 U.S. states.

The ICC model codes are updated every three years to ensure that they reflect the latest advancements in construction practices and safety.

The ICC model codes are developed through a rigorous open-consensus process that brings together code enforcement officials, builders, engineers, architects, code enforcement officials, and consumers.
